NEW for 2019 – “Park”ticipACTION mornings are all about “unplugging” and having fun in the great outdoors. Featuring games, sports and other activities designed for kids to get the day started off right! A nominal registration fee of $10.00 per child per program (10% discount for Friends members) is charged. Programs take place Monday to Friday in July and August, from 10:00 am and 12:00 pm. Run, Jump, Play and Have Fun with Friends.
Geared towards children between the ages of 5 and 12, the focus of the Junior Naturalist program is to provide children with the opportunity to learn about nature; wildlife; ecological integrity and the cultural/archaeological history of Riding Mountain National Park, the Riding Mountain Biosphere Reserve, and the province of Manitoba. To date, over 14,000 children from around the world have participated in this summer education program.
For children ages 7 to 14, the Young Explorers program features a Tuesday evening GPS / Geocaching program (Cache Me If You Can) and a Thursday evening art program (Nature Inspired).
Friends Li’l Critter Camp programs feature arts, crafts and games for children ages 5 and up.
