Friends is committed to supporting research in and around Riding Mountain National Park. We are able to provide financial assistance through sales in our Friends Learning Centre, numerous fundraising initiatives, and our Adopt-an-Animal program.
Over the years, Friends has contributed to research projects that have studied wildlife and environmental issues that are of concern to the Riding Mountain region. These projects have included:
• The Pine Marten Reintroduction program (early to mid ’90s)
• The South Gate Renaturalization program (2001)
• The Grey Wolf research projects (2002 to 2011)
• Adopt a River Programs (2009 to 2011)
• Species at Risk Bat Monitoring (2016 to present)
• Zebra Mussle Awareness (2018 to present)
Friends is continually looking for new programs and projects to support in the Riding Mountain National Park area. If you are involved with a research project or know of a program that Friends may be able to assist with, please let us know.
